Hi All,

If you are thinking about buying a Matterport Camera, one of your likely questions is, "how long with the battery last?"

For this Matterport Spaces 3D Tour, I scanned for nearly seven hours - 273 scans - and the battery indicated that the Camera was good for 3:50 hours more. Let's call it 10 hours even!

I have had only one day where I scanned for more than 10 hours straight - and charged the camera while I took a lunch break.

Matterport engineers did a great job selecting the battery. So, take this question off your list. It's likely you will drop before the battery stops.

Got more battery related questions? Please post to this discussion.

Best,

Dan

My best time is about 8.5 hours on a battery @DanSmigrod

@Helen

So, I am wondering out-loud ...

This was my first use of the current:

1. firmware upgrade
2. Capture app upgrade
3. iOS upgrade

My impression was:

1. the camera rotation is quieter
2. the camera rotation is gentler
3. the Capture app scanning was faster
4. the Capture app processing was faster

I wonder if - if the above is true - that the Camera requires less power than it use to.

@DanSmigrod I am still working with the first camera and process and transfer seemed much faster today. Usually I have had to wait to do my next scan but not today, it was ready!
It was very nice not having to wait.

@DanSmigrod I was very surprised how well it went after updating everything yesterday along with being faster I had no alignment issues which also saves a lot of time from scanning twice.
It was like wow I'm done this house already!

@Helen

Yes. My impression too.

Hi All,

Anyone else notice a difference with their Pro1 Camera after upgrading to the latest firmware, Capture app and iOS?

Best,

Dan

It was the first time in a while that the finished product was error free.

My Pro1 has always been quite capable of at least 3 scans before recharging. I've carried out the updates this week and will see how the camera performs on Tuesday.
