Tech question. Since both Matterport and Sketchfab use WebGL to display their interactive 3D interfaces, why is it that Matterport tours work great on an iPad, whereas Sketchfab models won't load on an iPad? Does anyone know a workaround? I have a 128GB iPad Air2. | ||

I am familiar with Sketchfab and Matterport data. Can you provide the link? Generally Matterport will limited the total face of the mesh file to be about 50K. Sketchfab don't have that limitation so some big mesh eat lots of memory. And Matterport use un-light shader that more fast than Sketchfab's light shader with lots of special effect. |

I would assume this due to AppleĀ“s bad browser engine and old models. On the iPad all browser vendors are forced to rely on the safari engine. the examples work on my iPad: https://blog.sketchfab.com/browse-3d-on-mobile/ Nice user profile: https://sketchfab.com/billbrown Here a MP capture: https://sketchfab.com/models/a0ca73228dc044478a8531c9ba862658 |
