@HarlanHambright

Thanks for sharing ...

Colors are vibrant That's great to see.

I was most curious to see the lowest level.

What did you learn from scanning a ship?

Very Cool. Mind me asking how you worked out the fee for this?

This vessel is so large, it was like scanning a long condo, so there were no unique issues, except for the steep passage to the engine room. Luckily that condition does not present itself very often. Outside was also an issue. I got stuck in 3 places yesterday and went back just before sunset to fill in (which accounts for the light changes on the upper deck. There was plenty of 3D data for the camera to lock onto, so scanning outside was not much of an issue. This is also the first time I've scanned in the rain. A final consideration: about halfway through scanning I realized the ship was listing a tad to starboard and wondered about leveling. Do you level the camera (like usual) or try to align it with the ship's plumb? And if you scanned with a tilt, would the system "correct" it?

By the way, this 140 scan project took 8 hours to process.

@hometakes: I don't get all wrapped up in pricing. I have a lump sum number I shoot for which may or may not be 500. Smaller, cheaper properties can be less; huge, >$10,000,000 places can be more, maybe a lot more. This was a largish house.
