| Hi All, "Scanning takes about an hour for a 2000 ft2 house," says this Matterport webpage. I have been using the Matterport Pro1 - Matterport Pro 3D Camera - since July 2014. I must be doing my scanning all wrong. It takes me about an hour per 1,000 sq ft. I scan all my spaces to maximize the quality of: ✓ 3D walk-through experience ✓ VR walk-through experience ✓ the quality of the mesh (stereoscopic VR, at some point) ✓ for closets (open/closed) (open closets goes to Blue-Sketch for getting the 2D floor plans with closets) ✓ snapshots for highlights reel ✓ images (in case client does not engage a Pro) ✓ 360º photos (outdoors) I must be doing it all wrong. Can someone explain to me how to scan in half the time that Matterport references? Does the Pro2 camera enable me to scan in half the time? Dan |

| I could easily scan a 2000 sq ft house in an hour if it has no furniture. I never do what you're doing with the closets. I don't really see the point. The absence of space will also give them the dimensions for blue print purposes. However, it the closet is empty I will slide one door open. | ||

| Id say I'm the same with you Dan which is about 1 hour per 1000sqft. I also have an iPad 2. My business partner has a iPad pro and it isn't that much faster where I'd be running for the Apple store. I'm curious to see the person's tours look like if their doing 2000sqft in 1 hour. |

| I'm with you Dan. I spend a great deal of time doing a thorough scan so that the user experience is at its best. I'm also mindful of the position of the camera so that I have several options for still photos. | ||

| I'm doing about an hour per 1000 sq. ft. and that's if there is no alignment issues. I have an iPad pro 9.7. I'm getting faster with each scan but I think 2000 sq. ft. in 2 hrs. is just a sales pitch. Maybe if the home is completely empty and only one floor I could do it. | ||

| 1000 sq ft. in 45 to 60 minutes depending on the furniture, number of rooms, etc. 2000 sq ft in an hour can be done (I have done it) if you have an open floor layout (for example an office space so you don´t have alignment problems due to a monotonous environment where the camera cannot get reference points). If it is an open space unfurnished then maybe it takes a lot longer due to missalignment issues. IPad Pro vs Ipad 2 Air makes not such a difference. Perhaps a couple of seconds per scan, but honestly it doesn´t matter because I am not a Formula one driver in a pit stop! On average when I make my quotations my assumption is 1200 sq ft per hour. |

| For me, 2500 Sq. Ft. = 1:30 mins. I think that anyone who is taking longer to do these scans is using time out of their day that would otherwise be making them more money. All the agent really cares about it being able to get around the house in 3D and see every room in the house in wonderful 3D view. Closets always open in case of Floor Plan needed. So for example, if its an empty home and you have a room thats say 15 x 10, then one scan at the doorway, and one scan in the middle of the room. Thats it. A scan in each corner is not needed. Now say its furnished. If theres a bed, one on each side near the night stands and one at the foot of the bed. The minimum scans that can be done to show each room of the house is the key. The cool ness of the flying through the home is the wow factor and thats enough for the agent and the seller, their client. We shot this the other day 4500 feet and scheduled 2.5 hours for the shoot. |

| Looks good, nice house!! I'm curious I seem to expirence a lot of cracks in door jams and in kitchens, especially on plantation shutters in my models. I don't think it's anything I'm doing different than anyone else. But does anyone have an idea what might be causing it, or how I can correct the issue? | ||

| There were 64 Scans done in total and none are hidden. As I previously said before, it was 4500 Square feet under air. | ||

| I average about 1300 sq ft per hour. Yesterday I scanned a 4070 sq Foot home in just under 3 hours. It was fully furnished and this also included the 3-car garage. | ||

| @steventing Heres how I would have shot this if it were for one of my clients. I would have saved 7 scans in the Garage over what you shot. You did charge for the Garage, right? I would have the three scans toward the rear of the garage. I Would not have scanned the outside backyard area off of the garage either. I also would not have scanned inside the kitchen pantry. You can clearly see the pantry from the scan just in front of the door. There were a lot of places I could see where you could have saved many scans. Can I ask what you charge? I assume that its based on square footages of scanned areas. | ||

| I could have saved those scans but this was my 2nd scan. I want to make sure I provide a good impression to my clients. My rack rate is 0.12 per square foot and provide a discount when two or more properties are scheduled at the same time. This home was one for my broker (I'm also a Realtor) and I am charging him 0.10 per sq foot. He's pitching it to his other agents and hopefully that will lead to more business. |
