? I would say that as long as they can get good results with firmware upgrades it could be a few years. The sensors will advance and be able to capture more pixels but that would make for more bandwidth usage as the end result will be much more data. Does not help to have near-real-life quality and waiting for ages to display it on your desktop via the internet from a server. The client will get impatient and move on to something that loads faster... Lots of countries in the world still have issues with bandwidth if you're not living in a big town with fibre access. So at this stage, our cameras will have quite a few years of life left |
