iPad Air 2 64Gb for Matterport4332

I'm trying to keep my startup budget manageable, so I would like to start out with an iPad Air 2 with 64Gb and move up to a 128Gb when the time arises. Is this a bad idea? I can find these used for about $300. The 128Gbs are hard to come by used except for the pros which are very expensive.

@Richierichks

Buy a 128Gb. You'll be depressed when you post in the forum in a few months and find out that Matterport does not have a back up solution.

You'll be tempted to delete your models on your iPad to make room - and that's a bad idea, 'cause your models will have all kinds of uses down the road.

@Richierichks May I provide you some numbers before you purchase ipad?
Normally each Matterport showcase has 50~100 points. And each point will take ~12MB space.
If you have one 64GB ipad (if we use 50GB for the Capture app). You can store ~4000 points in you ipad. That will be at least 40 showcase.

By my experience one point will take about 2 min, so 4000 points means 133 hours work. I think it is enough for your two weeks Matterport business.

And you can try my way to backup your capture data every two weeks.
It is in another post

So you can't transfer the scans from one iPad to another?

@Richierichks

Yes. You can transfer the scans from one iPad to another, but it is NOT as easy as just dragging a file from here to there.

@JuMP I tried it your way and transferred all models to my iPad Pro. Works like a charm! Thanks a bunch!

Here is the reply from @JuMP:

"@grmngrl I found a simple way that you can try.
But I suggest you back up your ipad to iCloud first (like people always do) before you try my way.
After you make sure my way is working on your ipad and then you can use it next time without backup to iCloud first.

I am using win8.1 with iTunes 11.4.0.18.

Connect your ipad to your PC, open iTunes, and click (1/2) at above screen shoot. You can see "Capture Documents" at left (3). Select all of them and click "Save to..." (4) and select one folder on your PC. All files you selected will be uploaded from ipad to your PC folder. It is the "Backup".

And you can now disconnect your ipad and delete all files in your Capture app at ipad. Make sure there is no data in your Capture app.

Re-connect ipad to PC again to try the "Restore".
Just select (1/2) again and then select all files that you just backup and drop them to the "Capture Documents" area. iTunes will ask you to replace the old files or not, just select "YES".
After that disconnect ipad again and open Capture app on ipad. You will see all data restored.

Remeber every time you should select all files and folders in "Capture Documents" area when you "backup" or "restore".
