I've been surfing IKEA a bit tonight. My house is a bit dysfunctional due to having 5 kids and our infrastructure needing an overhaul to accomodate my growing family's needs. I've trying to visualize how my home looks now and what could be possible with my space. It occurred to me that it would be an amazing service if there were virtual interior decorators who could commission an MSP to come in, scan my home, and then offer design advice by analyzing what things are in my home currently, reading a short description of what my family's goals are, and then using the OBJ file and their own ideas to come up with an extreme home makeover plan. Doesn't this sound like a particularly excellent use of Matterport technology? Do I want to spearhead this? Oh, heck no. However, virtual remodeling could be a game changer for millenials who enjoy streamlined thinking from methodical organizers. Thoughts? |

@Metroplex360 that's a great idea and certainly say if you were busy parents with almost your own basketball team you may not have the time or energy to do it yourself. @Jamie @MeshImages ...Interior Designers and event planners could become your new best friends! Also, what about Microsoft Hololens? I know MS and IKea showcase it but does it actually work or just still a concept??? I know an MP who is selling 3D virtual staging for homes (hasn't had much luck) and wedding and party venues (doing better with these within hotels i.e. this is how your wedding reception will look decorated).. he's only limited by the furniture libraries available |

@metroplex360, I have tried to engage designers with the idea and have not had any progress yet to speak of. Some conversations have begun but remain unfinished. I am anxiously awaiting a response from an engineer who is a designer and a realtor and her husband is a builder. It is a no-brainer for me. Not sure what prohibits these people from saying "YES, what an excellent resource!" | ||

@nat_vanveen, I have been talking to two interior designers and they enjoyed seeing MP and were intriqued about this concept coming down the road. So I am with @srennick on this one just no luck out the gate. But they maybe old school and more hands on then tech savvy, so some might, but not all will. Same goes with event planners they either will come to you because they want it or it is going to be a tough sell for them to spend money from their profit margin when they believe they don't have to. We all here know how easy life would be for those that use MP but getting them to see our point of view it is a whole other question. Good luck to everyone can't wait to hear the first success story. |

Thanks @mcatino @metroplex360 @srennick for your insights and to everyone, I appreciate hearing and learning from this forum. It seems that our common struggle is demonstrating the value and application of VRT beyond the wow factor. I wish everyone good luck as well |
