While one is a furnished model and the other is unfurnished with many superior interior finishes, I thought I'd share what I was doing BEFORE Matterport:

Traditional DSLR 360:

Matterport:

I wish I could brighten the Matterport tour up a bit... when I got there, someone had stolen 32 lightbulbs and the shoot was delayed for 2.5 hours causing the sunlight to be reduced significantly...

What did you charge for that type of tour and who hosted it or should I say what software produced it and templates it?

@hometakes I was shooting those at $17.50/pano with my Nikon D7000 and a Nikkor 10.5mm Fisheye lense using a Nodal Ninja MK3. Pano2VR was what I used to build the tours. I'd certainly do things a bit different now in respect to both the UI and controls ... but I much prefer the Matterport Tours I miss being able to adjust the images though ... Matterport Tours could all use a bump in brightness.

Better Comparison:

Note: Embedding Matterport Tours on WGA is neat, but the tour is embedded so tiny...

quite interesting, :-), always nice to have a peek into the past and able to compare with the present, gives a view on what the future might hold...

@Metroplex360 thanks for the comparison from then and now! You stated you would do things different in respect to UI and controls, any suggestions? I work for a engineering company that dislikes 3D Scanning and cloud services and I am struggling to find programs that provide controls like matterport or even InsideMaps. It seems there are multiple companies like Kolor, Pano2VR, WondaVR etc. but nothing really stands out.

I will start another thread on the issue, I was just curious since you mentioned it above. Thanks

@Woods I would reverse the controls on my old tours to be more in line with how Matterport and iGuide work.

Honestly, I think that the Matterport interface is perfect except the silly terms of service bar. I like RealVisions UI also. I think that if I were commissioned to make a non 3D tour, I would copy elements from Matterport but add a mini map to the corner.
