Like you @DanSmigrod, there were a number of professional photographers at the show and really the best ones attend these shows. The ones who want to know what is happening in their market and their clients. We were there looking for Pro's to join our network plus the added benefit of collecting leads for our Pro's. @DanSmigrod, we enjoyed your company for a good part of the show, along with a number of our Pro's who were enjoying bringing their clients over to ask us questions and find out more. I saw it as a hugely successful opportunity for us to engage with our clients and yours. |

@Kevin_iGuide While Matterport is still relatively new, there are markets that already seem oversaturated with Matterport Pros based on pricing that Pros are charging. (More supply than demand.) What is the Planitar business strategy about the number of iGuide Camera Systems that it will sell in a market. Dan |

We have a magic number of cameras that we believe are required to service the market we want to cover. Our hope is that our Pro's will continue to grow and add cameras to their team to meet the demands. When a Pro has reached their capacity and not want to grow any further, we will add additional Pro's; but the addition will be complimentary not predatory. |

@Kevin_iGuide It seems like the DNA of Planitar is to stay focused on successful, professional photographers by not selling camera to real estate agents and limiting the sale of iGuide Camera Systems by market. Anything to add about your business approach? Dan |

Not much Dan. We are delighted by the success our teams are having in their markets and want to continue moving forward with them and others who are joining our team. We are just getting started with many, exciting new developments to come. |

@Kevin_iGuide Wednesday (1 March 2017), Matterport announced that they officially lowered the price of its camera to $3,600 from $4,500 (though it has been discounting since August 2016 between $600 and $900). How does iGuide Camera System compare on pricing? 1. Camera? 2. Processing and hosting? 3. Floor plans? Dan |

iGuide System continues to sell for $4,500 USD. We run a lean manufacture and ship system that allows us to be selective on where the systems go. Matterport may have reduced the camera cost but they will have to go much lower for the economics to equate to the value of iGuide. Again, we are looking for Professional clients who are concerned with speed, efficiency and product. The $900 discount will not matter to much when you look at the potential output variances for Pro's. |

@Kevin_iGuide You mentioned earlier that a Pro can shoot more iGuide tours per day than with Matterport. Is that an example of why the Camera cost more? And, what about Processing and hosting? If a Pro shoots 250 iGuide tours a year how does that compare to Matterport? Dan |

Our camera costs more because we are smaller and are producing them in small batches, so we cannot leverage much purchasing power when it comes to parts. We reduced our cost to compete with Matterport's initial $4,500. We can not match again but now that we have a solid year of data from our Operators, we don't believe we have to match the initial hardware cost because we are able to justify our cost in another way; for our pro's. We are all aware of the seasonality of the business and in most North American markets the peak season is double or triple the volume of business from the slow season. Our iGuide Pro's are often churning out 7 - 9 tours per day during the peak season. (long days but make hay...) That number would likely drop to 2 per day in the slow season. If the production capacity of their camera is only 2 per day, that would mean they need 4/5 cameras and 4/5 operators per day in the busy season. Those additional cameras would be sitting for part of the year, earning nothing. $900 would seem like nothing when you potentially have $15,000 of equipment sitting on the shelf in November, December, January and February depreciating. We are focused on these economics when Pro's decide what system to buy. |

We got involved in the We Get Around Network, not just because we all really like you Dan. We got involved because we believe you've got a large, quiet audience that absorbs information, more than shares it. Like the missions to Mars, we would like to know if anyone is out there and if anyone is listening? |

@kevin_iguide Please discuss the use of your own version of Magic Lantern in the DSLR of your platform. How does this affect the OEM warranty and will you replace a bricked camera at anytime during ownership? |

@Kevin_iguide This URL http://www.goiguide.com/iguidebusiness you write "Improve Google search ranking" Can you please explain what you mean by this. As a long time Google Trusted Phototogher, making these statements was strictly forbidden by Google. Since the page is referencing adding photospheres to a business listing with Street View, it appears that this is when you are trying to convey. Do you mean something else? |

@TrustedPhotoDC iGuide camera includes Canon DSLR (currently EOS T5) in the completely unmodified form, thus the original 1-year warranty on Canon body is intact. We do not use any custom firmware for Canon and all camera control from our system controller is done using the API officially exposed by Canon. The iGuide camera also has a 1-year warranty on parts and labor, where all broken parts will be replaced at no cost, provided the damage was not due to improper handling (e.g. dropping the camera). Beyond the first year we will charge for parts (e.g. DSLR body), labor, and shipping to fix any issues with the camera, just like any other camera manufacturer. I will let Kevin answer your other question. |

@Kevin_iGuide iGuide has an 'always-on' 2D laser scanner that creates the floorplans that iGuide is famous for. Would you mind walking us through how this works for an iGuide Operator and how the floorplan is visualized as it is built? | ||

@Metroplex360 I can answer that. While shooting you are presented with images and measurement data in real time on your smart device. This allows you to see what your images look like in HDR and see the data as you gather it. Automatic mapping mode can be used to align the data for you or the data can be moved and rotated manually to assemble the floorplan. Here are two workflow examples: Automatic mode 1. Use mapping mode and walk through the house to build a map of the entire property (2-15min depending on house size and complexity) 2. Create a panorama in every space and let the camera align the rooms for you (about 1 minute per panorama) Here is video that shows that process Manual Mode 1. Create a panorama in every space. 2. Between panoramas align the data manually by moving and rotating rooms into place in real time on your smart device. It's a bit like putting together pieces of a puzzle. I prefer to align the data manually because it can be a little bit faster and it's more fun. The data and images can all be edited later in the post processing software so the main goal for the operator is to confirm that enough data has been gathered to draw a floorplan and visually depict the space. The process can also be non-linear which means you can shoot panoramas and gather data in any order you like. This is extremely useful in the real world where you may be interrupted by agents, homeowners, pets, etc. The most common example would be when the house is not ready when you show up to shoot it. To work around this you can measure and create your panoramas in whatever rooms are ready and go back to rooms as they become available. |
