That's brilliant Jamie! Who has created the tour and do you know what platform its on? It's gorgeous and super smooth!

Sure.
The walk through part took 6 nights on set to shoot. We used matterport and then a 360 pano over the same locations. This was a first so it was basically a work in progress. In the end, the matterport part was not really usable, so the panos were used.

The 360 video was done with a Nokia ozo over several nights in different locations.

The marketing company fifth wall did all of the post production and did a great job.
We have a few more coming but because of NDA restrictions, that's all I can say.

I'm cracking my head trying to figure out how you achieved the Matterport "transition effect" and pointer "feel", I've been through hundreds and hundreds of tours but this one is EPIC, congratulations @Jamie, sorry I've been a quiet reader and not introduced myself before, been following Matterport and this awesome forum by @DanSmigrod for a while already. About to get my first camera.

Much like Matterport Showcase, this tour runs in Three.js and does involve a 3D Model wherein the panoramas are mapped. When transitioning between the panoramas, Three.JS uses a similar transition effect when moving between each sphere.

Unlike Matterport - the 3D space was created so that these scenes from 4 different locations could be pulled in together to create one cohesive tour. To handle the spaces between - the tour will sometimes crossfade as there is not a pano to connect the areas.

The outside skyline is superimposed imagery.

All in all, this is one absolutely amazing tour. The 360 images are beautifully edited to look movie-quality and give the magic of really being inside of the movie. I believe, Jamie, we can credit you for that.

I see the tech behind this being an astonishing feat and one that will afford the Fifth Agency many amazing custom opportunities.

I -can- see Matterport being a useful tool for projects like this as the ability to capture an OBJ file would create a canvas of sorts wherein panoramas caught by a more sophisticated camera (Like the Nokio OXO that Jamie mentioned) can be embedded and played through a custom player.

While Jamie seems to state that the Matterport part was not usable, he also stated that 360 Panos were shot over the same locations. Logic would follow that the Matterport Camera could have been used to create the 3D models that were then taken as pieces that eventually became the custom 3D OBJ files that I linked to. In the end, Matterport would have been used to create 4 separate areas that would serve as the foundation wfor what would ultimately be unrecognizable as a Matterport-based project.

This is all my guess. And honestly, I think this is potentially the single most out-of-the-box usage for Matterport that I've either seen -- or -- imagined based on this potential use case scenario.

Jamie's NDA certainly leaves us a lot of mystery. Best post of 2017!
