Would anyone like to share with me there standard ownership clause. I had a client asking me about ownership. Not so much about the matterport scan but about the pictures we took and uploading for him. The jobs going to be a high profile job. I told him he can do whatever he wants with the stuff we give him. But his lawyer wants it in writing. Any suggestions?

It's generally stanDard for them to "lease" the photos from you, or obtain a license. I guess the lawyer just wants to know if that's the case or you are selling and releasing your ownership. Decide and put it in writing

Legal is what you say and what you don't define. Find out what they want and have THEM draft it and send. That way you are not restricting yourself or giving away more than you have to. This may seem crazy now but if you had 22 years of webstuff and intellectual property dealings in you it will make sense. You want to retain your marketing rights as per the industry standard but if YOU define the agreement then it could hurt you. Have them show their cards and see if you can live with it.

It has me wanting to bang my head against the wall. |

There are licensing agreements out there and I think Dan has a legal contract connection if you dig into the forums by searching. However many give everything away and locks you out from displaying your work. Be sure you leave the door open to use the work to get business AND try to help them do what their lawyer wants if possible.
