Hi there, Just wondering when you are planning to scan in a remote location where wifi or 3G could be very poor, will the camera-iPad connection still be possible? Thanks!! |

The camera-iPad connection has nothing to do with cell phone reception. The camera is a wifi hotspot and the iPad connects to it.

Thanks John, so if I scan a hut in the mountain, it should be fine?

You can scan a mansion on the moon. All that matters is the camera and the iPad. They don't rely on any other technology. They connect to one another. Having said that, after you're done scanning, you'll need a connection to the internet to upload your scan to Matterport. |

I think scanning on the sun might cause a few alignment errors unfortunately

True that, perhaps a surveying tripod that can be anchored to the terrain.

I agree. Surveying tripod, focus on the dark side of the moon (to avoid direct sunlight), oxygen mask, heat suit, and most important...a tether so no one floats away!

There is no dark side of the moon, really. As a matter of fact, it's all dark.

Sounds like we need a sun, moon and the stars trim tool.

I think the aliens on the far side of the moon might take the camera and reverse engineer it. Hey maybe that's a good thing, we can have our upgrades then
