| Heres a quick question. Iv'e been trying to get my scan times down and Im curious to know how long other people are taking to scan straight forward interior spaces. Removing the usual variables such as moving furniture, dressing the space, rescanning misaligned scans or working on awkward spaces with lots of stairs etc. How long do you spend on a 1000 SQ ft space such as this https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=5gPfWUhYDU7&brand=0 Compared to a 3000 sq ft space like this :- https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=x6PLX9SAXnX |

| I Scan 1000 sq in about 35-40 minutes and 3000 in about 1:45-2. There are always variables that effect this time. My rule of thumb is to keep the scanning spinning. I turn ups the volume on the iPad all the way and always try to be waiting for the transfer to complete to instantly start a new scan. If you are waiting for every scan to align you are wasting that time. Chris |

| For the 1000sf apartment, I would end up taking between 25-30 scans. This would take 30-45 minutes. My scan times are in line with @CDM for the larger property as well. Good luck |

| I find that my scans average between 2-3 minutes depending on re-scans for no alignment. I set my pricing based on a 1,000 Sq Ft knowing that I can comfortably scan 1,000 Sq Ft in 1 hour. Hope this helps, cheers! | ||

| I'm not sure if this will be helpful or make me look like an idiot, but I received back a critique of my scanning earlier on that my tripod was too low. I was used to having my tripod set low for photography -- but with Matterport, I try to have the camera's lens level with eye level for someone that's 5'7". I'm 5'10", so I generally line it up with my mouth. After I adjusted the height from perhaps 4'8" to 5'7", I noticed that scanning was remarkably different. I could actually have larger spaces between scans and the camera was able to look over furniture better and thus the scan time went down. So doing things correctly reduces scan time |

| I thought MP should come out with "pause" button in their capture software, especially when it comes with 360 view. The Pause might really help so that we do not need to do scan again. One scan usually takes from 35 - 45 seconds, right? Anyone shares the same ideas with me? | ||

| @Metroplex360 I am scanning now at around 5' height. One reason is that many videographers and photographers film low or set low tripod for photography low. that will allow me to match better when I make the FLY IN 3D videos. I might be wrong but by scanning low I feel like I have less alignment problems. | ||

| Forgot to comment on the issue of this thread. I average about 1,300 sf per hour on my iPad Air2 I also manage expectations like @DanSmigrod I tell the customer to allow 1.5 hours per 1,000 sf. I do double scan bathrooms at normal height and at lower height to avoid the camera to show on mirrors in the final Space. |
