Are you using this tripod dolly - or other dolly - to scan spaces? How do you like it? Seems like for big, open, flat spaces that this would be a great solution for making it easier and faster to scan spaces. Other tripod dolly's I should add to this Matterport Gear and Accessories Shopping List? Best, Dan |

Yeah I have a few of them, but never actually tried yet. Just another thing to carry I sure they would work well in the right condition though. Not sure if there woukd be any movement if its not locked down |

I use mine on every scan. Makes moving the tripod a breeze. Keeps the camera at a constant height. I never lock the wheels...there is not enough torque on the camera to cause movement.

Doh.. cannot believe I haven't thought of that. I get a serious arm pain when doing large scan jobs. Not to mention the blister on my right hand.

Also if you are still holding the iPad with both hands Otterbox makes a great hand strap with neck strap for hands free moving of the camera without jeopardizing dropping the iPad or having to set it down. The wheels work great for large spaces.

I have used mine only for large open spaces and it's great makes things faster. I do lock the wheels just as a precautionew but I have tried it without locking them and it seems it doesn't move at all.

I assume this solution is only useful for large commercial buildings. I couldn't imagine this being something that you'd have in a home as it would hit the doorways.

Actually mine fits perfectly through doorways. Never had a problem with the doors. I do take the tripod off the dolly for stairways and tubs/showers.Since the tripod and dolly are locked in you can also get one of the ipad holders that musicians use that clips to a mic stand (a tripod leg for us) and you dont have to carry the ipad around all day.

Does anyone consider a motorized tripod with a remote control?
