Video: Matterport Office Design Studio was one of the reasons that we bought our first Camera in July 2014. This service has NOT been released as of today (Tuesday, 2 August 2016). In this MUG Forum thread about Matterport's 360º Outdoor Views, I said the following: Quote: Originally Posted by @DanSmigrod ---- My Warning: Do not tell your clients about new features that Matterport has announced, but has not released. Why: In the two years that We Get Around has been using Matterport, the company has announced many new features at trade shows that were either: -- never released (Matterport Office Design bold textStudio) -- delayed by a year or more (Matterport Mattertags) -- still in Beta (Matterport VR Showcase) (Announced 14 April 2015) -- released (and withdrawn) Zillow integration The risk of telling a client or prospect about new Matterport features announced – but not yet released – is a client saying, great. Let's get started with [feature] is ready. Did I miss any other Matterport vaporware? What do you think? Best, Dan P.S. We understand that Matterport wants to use trade shows like Inman Connect to sell Camera, BUT it would be nice if they RELEASED instead of ANNOUNCED (COMING SOON). And, then it takes 12 months before the features are live. |

Very good point Dan, some of us can remember talk about a white labeled solution for service providers and we all know where that ended up. ![]() |

In my world it is called "over promise and under deliver". People work this out and it is seen as a way to boast sales, but the ones who purchase then find out they have to wait or pay more for the extra promised features talk to others, who end up buying something else. Maybe MP should be talking of "under promise and over deliver". True it is good to see that MP are developing new features. But the delivery time lines need to be fully disclosed too. Image if as Photographers we operated in the same mind set! We would be out of business. |

Some major camera manufacturers (Nikon) have for years promised releases that have taken way to long to come out. But they are still major players in the game. Why? | ||
