Hello, I've decided I want to charge my MP services using the per square foot method. Is it possible to get a "scanned area" from the model or do I have to rely on whatever the client tells me is the total area? |

I would check it against the tax records online, that way, you know what you have without relying on someone's honesty or lack of knowledge at the time you ask them.

@billherman Hehe, I don't have the possibility in my country. Guess i'll have to rely on the honesty! |

Then you should do your pricing based on the square footage of each room and hallways or have a flat fee per room with a minimum amount of rooms to be charged. Or, Include a floor plan in your pricing. I'm new to this too and am trying to figure out a bunch of stuff. Got my first practice tour today.

If you buy the Matterport floor plan with each model, it will give you close dimensions of each room. It's easy to figure the sq ft from there. It may not be 100% accurate, but in my tests it's pretty close. Just adjust your rates to cover the $36 charge from Matterport. |

Hi Kenangiguere, Does Matterport do everything on the floorplan in their pricing or are there things that you have to do? |

Hi all, I also provide floor plans and can give the estimated square footage. NB obviously the estimate is just an estimate and no legal liability on our side but it should help you further. Chech out www.blue-sketch.com or email sales at blue-sketch.com |

If you are willing to spend a couple of minutes on checking it, you can screenshot the floorplan view with a scalebar of 10 meters (or whatever). Import it in google sketchup and outline the property to get the GIA. It takes me 5 minutes to double check the square footage of a property using this method.
