Open question to everyone:

If the matterport scan is basically a photograph of a space...Does the photographer owns rights over the scan? Can he distribute his/her work over the Creative Commons copyrights?

YairYepez,

Good question...I was thinking about something else also. What if an Real Estate Agent pays for the Scan and then the listing expires and another agent picks up the listing....does that model/scan belong to the first agent or can you sell it to the new agent or the first agent need to sell it to the second agent?...

So maybe this is related in some ways.

Also I have wondered about something else.....what about photos and art that the owners might not want seen or shown...right now there is no way to blur those images. And you know with this type of model/scan you can see dirty spots on their underwear....just kidding...but the point is that everything is exposed including the floor plan so is there a point of liability that we need to not take responsibility for?

This was brought up on another forum, these scans give "bad guys" a map of the house, to include where expensive items can be located. I think what they want to advertise they have would be no different than if panoramics were taken and advertised online.
