| I was talking recently with a fellow business owner — she runs a fitness gym and health spa — and she mentioned that she meets regularly with a small group of other local business owners. No agenda, no pitch deck. Just a standing get-together to share what is working, what is not, and what they are thinking about strategically. She said it was one of the most valuable things she does for her business. It got me thinking about our community here at We Get Around Network. We have 9,500+ immersive capture specialists across 150 countries — photographers, 3D scanning operators, real estate media business owners, commercial spatial data pros. Most of us are running independent businesses, often as solo operators or small teams. And yet there are not many spaces where we just talk shop as business owners, peer to peer. So two questions for the community: 1. Do you currently meet with other business owners — in your local area or online — to talk strategy? It does not have to be formal. A monthly coffee, a group chat, a mastermind call — whatever form it takes. Has it been valuable? What do you get out of it? 2. Would anyone be interested in a bi-weekly WGAN community call — informal, no agenda — just to talk shop? Pricing, client conversations, gear decisions, workflow, what is working in your market right now. Open to anyone in the WGAN community regardless of where you are in the world. If there is enough interest I will set something up. Drop a reply below or just comment "I'm in" and we will go from there. Topics covered in this post include: immersive capture business strategy, real estate media, 3D tour operators, solo operators, small business, peer community, mastermind, WGAN community, business networking, virtual meetup Are you running your immersive capture business in isolation, or have you found a community of peers that helps you think through the hard stuff? | I used to do several of these kind of meet ups in person in Japan. They lead to collaborations and new business opportunities. Sometimes just sharing hints like you suggested. Now I am too busy to do the in person meetings. I’d love to do it on WGAN but I think whatever time slot is chosen it wouldn’t fit with Japan time. If you are doing this I wouldn’t be able to participate often but for sure I would be interested. |

| The small local ones are awful for the service I can provide and want a lot of money to be a part of it. I went to one as one first time for free. 30 businesses but only 2 of them can benefit from the tour. The cost to be a part of it was $2000/year. They mostly spend on renting nice places for their business members but because of this high cost I cannot join. As alternative I went to another one that represented a few businesses from a specific postcode(about 5 suburbs). This one did not have annual fee to charge, just pay $50 for a lunch and that's only if you attending. I had a chat with all of them but still most of businesses are either won't get much from a tour or too small(yoga classes on their own residential property) to want it or pay for it. Sure you can try just photography service with them but when they are small they want to take their own photos rather than paying someone professional. I have heard the best will be a chamber of commerce operating with your local council. There are much more members there and for some reason the cost less than $2000/year. I have not tried it yet though. |

| Agreed @Wingman, Small local meet ups are not so good. Also, I get quite a lot from the Chamber in Osaka. Both companies to create new services with and new clients. For sales the best I have found are industry specific meet ups. For instance there is a building company association which allows a limited number of out of industry members in. I was a member for three years. From them I got two regular clients. The cost starts to go over the return so I quit and joined an architect’s association in the same way. Most of these are just drink ups (lol). |
