Matterport 2D Captures won't save21540

AdirondackDrone private msg quote post Address this user
Hi Everyone,

I have had an on going issue these last few months pulling 2D photos from my completed Matterport tours from the same computer I have used for my Matterport editing for 8 years. I have rebooted, changed browsers, cleared cache, called tech support, updated my computer and cleaned my registry. The only thing that works is using a different computer. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Corey.

That’s a strange one. I don’t often pull stills from MP tours but it’s always worked before. As an alternative, have you tried simply recording screenshots of the views you want? Make the tour window as large as your desktop screen then just grab screenshots.

I've had a couple issues the past week with captures saving even when I've left the model and come back in to it. Ultimately by closing the browser window and then opening a new one and getting back in to Matterport it's worked, so I get the frustration.

@AdirondackDrone thanks for posting.. i dont export too often but did last week with no issues.

here's what my AI assistant says...

Since the same workflow works on a different computer, the issue is isolated to that specific machine. A registry clean and cache clear are a good start, but they won't touch the two most common culprits here.

Corrupted browser profile — This is the most likely cause. Clearing cache is not the same as a fresh profile. Try creating a brand-new browser profile (not incognito) and log into Matterport from scratch. A corrupted profile carries over broken settings, extensions, and local storage that cache clearing won't fix.

Extension conflict — Ad blockers, privacy extensions (uBlock Origin, Ghostery, Privacy Badger), and some download managers silently block file generation requests. Disable all extensions in your browser, then retry the 2D photo export. In Chrome, go to chrome://extensions and toggle everything off before testing.

Download folder permissions — Windows security updates and registry cleaners sometimes quietly change folder write permissions. Try changing your browser's default download location to the Desktop and see if that makes a difference.

Hardware acceleration — Matterport's viewer relies on WebGL. If a driver update or registry cleaner affected GPU settings, it can break rendering and export. Try disabling hardware acceleration in your browser settings and test again.

If none of those fix it, a fresh install of a browser you have not previously used for Matterport on that machine (Edge or Firefox) will tell you quickly whether it is browser-specific or an OS-level issue.

hope some of that helps..

I have not but that's a good idea if I can't figure it out!

That used to work for me, it no longer does unfortunately.

Thanks for the reply, disabling the extensions isn't a bad idea, I will give that a shot!

I would try logging off from a Matterport account and log in again on a desktop where it does not work.
As I understand the problem is that Matterport won't save what you capture in a workshop on one desktop and will save it on other. Since captured photos in workshop are generated and saved on a Matterport side(not on your desktop) for you to download later it looks like your Matterport account authorization problem.

So oddly enough after chasing this issue for months I shut off all boot services on MSConig and Matterport photo capture works flawless since!
