Capture time and duration of the whole project20841

RMB3DVR private msg quote post Address this user
Hi everyone, do you know if there is a way to know the time a specific scan has been made and/or how long it took for the whole project to be captured? It would be really usefiul in order to create a table of project and base the offer on that.
Thank you!

It really depends on the camera, the layout of the property and on the use cases of the capture. There is no one fits all rule.

@MeshImages totally agree and even on the best day you can run in to external issues not expected whether it’s WiFi interference alignment issues. Then there are days the stars align and everything works perfectly. What camera is going to be your base camera?

Sorry guys, i forgot to mention it. I use a Matterport pro2 and a Pro3. I tried to check on the app and on the editor if somewhere it says the capture time but i found nothing.

We have an excel sheet we made to create offers but we based that on only 25 projects we did. If i could have the time-stamp of each capture i could go back to old projects and add them to the datasheet to have more precise data.

@RMB3DVR but even with that it’s tuff to calculate, when I was doing commercial work if I was doing stores with Lots of glass show cases or stores with overhead security mirrors that run the length of store I ran into alignment issues or if there was identical rows. This all ran into alignment issues even with the Pro3 unless I did extra scans. Then when I did open commercial spaces again there were days it went great and days I had to run scans at 15-18 apart.

@RMB3DVR yes of course, throw a gopro on your chest and record in real time, along with a screen recording from your device... like I do

@RMB3DVR by the way, I've done thousands of scans with the pro2 and pro3, millions of square feet. Every job is truly different in the amount of time it takes. I've done 75k sq ft in 4 hours, I've done 20k sq ft in 7 hours... It really depends on the space you're scanning and how "efficient" you are.

Thank you guys, let's not go OT
I only need to know if there is a way to know the capture time of old projects.
Of course every project is different, that's why our offers are not based on time only but time, detail required, type of camera, complexity of the building, additional pics and much more.
Thank you!
