| Hello WGAN Family, Hope you are all well. Do you have any idea what is the maximum number of scans I can have in a space/project. And if you could share here a link to your largest space. The space that I am looking to shoot/cover is 750,000 sq feet (factory). On Matterport's winter release it says that you can merge projects for up to 2,000 scans. Is that 2,000 in total of all projects merged? if yes, then an individual project what is its limit? and if not, then how many projects of up to 2,000 scans I can merge. Based on my understanding, on average, every 10,000 sq ft will take 100 scans. |

| In December I just did 2 big jobs, and the amount of spaces that you can mere in the 4 combine spaces is 2000 scans, I had to reduce both my jobs to a total of 2000 scans, but funny enough after the merge just over 100 spaces did disappeared from the count, so the jobs come with about 1890 total scans, the thing is that if you try to send up for merge more then 2000 scans it will not do it. I spoke with Matterport support and apparently if manually they will not do over 2000 scans, which I found really strange and would love to know if someone managed to do more than 2000 scans with them. I think you can only merge a maximum of 4 jobs (I did) the total combine can not be more 200 scans and each job depends on your Ipad capacity and processing power and if it is exteriors or interiors, my experience is that I was not able to do more then about 900 scans in each job, with combination of interior and exterior, but if it is interior without much detail you can probaby do over 1000 scans, but if it is mainly exterior my last job only allow me to do 400 scans before start throwing me out of the Matterport App. I hope this helps you and if someone has managed to do more than 200 scans I would love to know how they do it, as I will need that information for myself. At the moment I do not have the necessary authorization from the client to post my jobs yet, but as soon as I do I will post them here. |

| @AndrewMaydaa the maximum number of scans also depends on the layout of the space. "Busy" spaces with lots of interior and details tend to be "heavier" than large empty indoor or outdoor spaces. I would not go over 2000 scans, as you will risk, that the combined model will not be playing in the browser. Think about combining Pro3 scans with Pro2 and other lightweight cameras, as they will not "load so much weight" into you model (not so much details from scan data). Good luck with your job! 🤞 | ||

Thank you @MeshImages for your response. The space is not cluttered, open large space with heavy large machines. Actually that was another question I wanted to learn about, you’re saying that we can combine pro 2s with pro 3s in a same space right? And you actually recommend it as the capture data will be lower when combining a large project. If anyone has covered a space above 500,000 & 700,000 sq ft, please do share the space and how you have done it or how many scans did it require. Thank you. |

| @AndrewMaydaa My experiences originate from the pre-merge era with a M2 iPad Pro 16GB. A new iPad Pro M4 with 16GB Ram will probably be able to capture 2000 Pro3 scans, too. I would probably run two rounds through the space. First round trying to get these 700.000 sq ft with maybe 1000 Pro3 scan positions. This should be possible to do if it is a large open space. 7,8 or 9 step grid Pro3. Upload while scanning with a 5G iPad. Then process and see. Walk a 2nd round (continue the path) and fill holes or scan highlight positions where needed. This is what i would try to do. Walk a continous path, this is very important, do not jump between areas within the space. |
