Hi everyone, i'm wonderinf if there a "method" in how the dollhouse gets oriented. I realized that, holding the table in portrait mode, the left side of the Pro3 is considered north (the lens is facing East). The problem is: when i upload the work and i open it form pc the model has been rotated and i cannot find a formula for that. Sometimes is 90 degrees left, sometimes right, sometimes 180 degrees. Am i missing something? Thank you |

Originally starting your first scans with the camera lens facing East provide a dollhouse properly oriented as if on a map. That no longer works and MP support doesn’t have a solution. I scanned a penthouse in Malibu CA. Unfortunately the ocean view balcony is facing E in the tour. Obviously needs to be facing W. MP was unable to reconcile the issue for me. I understand that MP may have a solution in beta. However I have yet to see that feature. Please post if you find the solution. More often than not. First scans with the camera lens facing East provides the desired results |

I see, thank a lot for your reply. I started to work recently in a company that uses Matterport and also the guy before me told me to face east. But since i started i did 4 scans and none of them is oriented correctly. It's not a big deal but also not a small thing. I think it's important to being able to show thing to clients having the same orientation as the official plan, without rotating it every time.

@rmb3dvr Fully understand. You’d think MP support could assist in correcting the orientation. I’m curious. Have you requested support from MP and if so, what was their response?

Here is what the support told me: "The direction of the model is being determined by the system and where they start to scan. Unfortunately, there is no way to rotate the dollhouse or floor plan view and keep the specific angle. I will add this as enhancement request. Unfortunately the orientation is arbitrary. We make it fit nicely in the browser." |
