Yesterday (Wednesday, 22 June 2016), I attended a real estate conference in Atlanta. I snapped a 360º photo sphere with the Ricoh Theta S and emailed it to the events executive director (whom shared it with their Members.) In less than a day, the this 360º photo sphere has been viewed more than 300 times. And, the executive director replied yesterday: ------ Dan, You are absolutely awesome!!!!! I am sending this to everyone I posted this on FB last night! Thank you, ------ Today, I received this email ... ------ "Just curious, How much is the camera or technology added to be able to do the 360 photos?" ------ I wrote back... ------ It’s magic. ;-) In addition to 3D and Virtual Reality (VR), the 360º photo sphere is part of the services that We Get Around offers to property management companies and agents/brokers to help sell/lease/rent properties. ------- I could imagine taking 360º photo spheres at all the meetings like this and tweeting them in realtime with the appropriate hashtag. I share this as another way that you might promote your business while figuring out ways to leverage the $350 Ricoh Theta S Camera. What else? How else are you using the Ricoh Theta S in your Matterport Service provider business? Best, Dan P.S. Here are MUG Forum related threads ... @michelg Super-exciting to see how you added the hotspot that points to the Matterport Spaces 3D Tour. What application did you publish the Theta 360º photo spheres. Dan |

@michelg By the way, about the seam on the ocean side of the pool, when I see that, I turn the camera 90-degrees so that the lighting is closer to even on both sides of the lens. Dan |

@michelg Excellent. Another great example of seamlessly integrating Matterport with Ricoh Theta via Autopano Dan = |

How does this compare to a MP shoot as shooting with the Theta is a no brainier and their service is not cheap. The one thing I really notice is there's one hell of lot of distortion. It looks like the hallway upstairs is 100 yards long

@Garysnider The theta was not level and it is not good for photosphere. It was really a quick shoot to test I had to zoom in a bit in autopano. But more cleanly with photospheres, I think the result can be satisfactory. Outside for the theta s and inside for the matterport |

Michelg, that's a great application for the Theta S, especially integrating it with the Matterport model as you did. As soon as we can embed links in Matterport, the links between inside and outside can become a two-way street.
