As our final prototype of 2024, we have developed a VR solution for showcasing heavy machinery at trade shows. Using photorealistic 3D models created with Gaussian Splatting technology, users can examine specs, features, and detailed views without transporting physical machines to venues. This reduces logistics costs while delivering an immersive equipment showcase experience. Special thanks to our XR specialist Maria Sanchez Isaza. Developed with Unity and Polycam. |

@Tosolini Thanks for sharing. Do you have a Gaussian Spatting link for the heavy equipment showed? This is a GREAT use-case: reducing the number of heavy equipment that gets shipped to a trade show. Happy holidays, Dan |

@Tosolini Thank you for sharing. At Geo Week 2024, there was a great session on Gaussian Splatting. I could imagine that there will be at least one session Gaussian Splatting at Geo Week 2025. Towards the end of this WGAN-TV Live at 5 show Wednesday (18 December 2024), there was some show and tell on a potential Gaussian Splatting use case. Happy holidays, Dan |
