Hi everyone. I have had access to SIMLAB STAGES as a [Standard] membership benefit of the WGAN for over a year and a half now, but I haven't had the time to take advantage of it. Apologies to Robert Czarlewiski at SIMLAB for taking so long. As early as January 2023 Robert took the time to explain to me online how to use STAGES despite the time difference of 7 hours! I was impressed with how the scans aligned so well despite the fact that the space had changed so much. I scanned a renovation job for a small carpentry firm in Kyoto at first in 2021 February and then in 2022 August. The job was an interesting one. The builder's client was a client was a foreign lawyer (here in Japan that means an American lawyer) based in Roppongi (which is in Tokyo) but wanted to live the old-world Japan dream of owning a cottage in the mountains. He found the builder in Kyoto (which is on the other side of the country from Roppongi, Tokyo) and asked him to renovate his newly purchased Kyoto mountain property by email. Why this builder? (Komamizu-San), because he had seen a Matterport tour Meidansha (that's me) had made for Komamizu-san a few years before. Komamizu-san was ecstatic and asked me to capture the process before and after. Unfortunately I did not know about STAGES at the time and made individual 3D scans and also a slider comparison using 3D Vista. You can see the slider example below: https://virtualtour.productions/meidansha/exterior_rennovation_slider/index.htm After watching the WGAN-TV Podcast show last month with Robert Czarlewiski and @dansmigrod, I decided to finally put the 3D scan assets to work and tried out STAGES (which is a benefit of the WGAN [Standard] membership plan). From here, I need to think about clients to pitch this too. This was an unusual case where the builder had the budget for multiple 3D scans (most likely because he felt obliged as the scan had got him the job completely online). In general it is hard to find clients that have the budget for scanning their case studies in addition to the usual photos and video etc. I would love to hear how people overseas (from Japan) get their repeating clients. |

| @Meidansha I love how when you use the SIMLAB STAGES split screen view with side-by-side Matterport tours, when you move one tour, the other Matterport tours moves in sync. Thanks for sharing your before/after tour example. Best, Dan |
