Hello all! I have a client who would simply like to have access to the virtual tour of their home indefinitely, without having to incur hosting fees. What is, if indeed possible, the best solution? A free Matterport account to host the one scan? Thanks much! |

@NC3D I have spoke of this before, everybody should be doing this to their own home for insurance purposes. Especially now that insurance companies are tightening the belt on claims. Back to the question which system would you use and the overall question would be the bottom line reason for the tour. The single host Matterport is one until Matterport changes there hosting criteria and eliminates the free account, which I can see in the future if the free accounts get to popular. You can also use Realsee or Iguide which gives you a white label tour that does not need to be hosted. |

@NC3D if you have access to 3D Vista, it has the option to export a locally stored app for Windows or Mac. If the client is satisfied with just the 360s in a tour (no 3D) it is a viable option. However if they want to display the 3D element of a Matterport tour, it is difficult to incorporate the .obj that comes with a Matterpak into the 360 panos in 3D Vista. It is unlikely a client who just wants a virtual tour of a home would be able to afford the editing fees that one would charge if manually combining a 3D scan and 360 panos. But for 360s alone it works great. For reference, here is one I made for a rennovator/ builder last month (360s only) |

HI, its posiible to create offline windows version of matterport tour, of course its a TOS violation for you, but not for your client.

@Meidansha if you don’t mind sharing the camera you used to capture this and create this tour, nice work,

@ron0987 Thanks for the compliment! It was a before after shoot with the before made in April and the after in July. The camera was a Sony Alpha 7R4 on a pano mount with a 7 artisans 10mm lens. I think I shot around F11(?). You can use 3D Vista with 360 cameras of course, and I sometimes do, but this client expected top quality. They do Matterport in house and they wanted something "better". I charged around $2,000 for two tours like this, but frankly with the amount of editing involved I should have charged more or taken less panos. |

@NC3D Matterport Free Forever account does not work with Matterport Pro2 Camera or Matterport Pro3 Camera. For clarification, to use a Matterport Free Forever account, you would need to use a supported 360 camera (or Matterport Capture app only). Best, Dan |

I may be mistaken but there was a post on the forum about some utility created and posted on github. I have not tried it yet but people claim you can actually download the whole matterport tour and run it on a local network without any internet connection. I have subscribed to it but I cannot see it now. However I run search on github and there seems to be plenty of apps related to Matterport there and I even see one on the first page of search result that says you can download a Matterport tour. Have a look if you have time. May be you can find a lot of useable tools for Matterport there. |
