Did a search but couldn't find anything on this topic. Say you shoot a Matterport tour using the Pro2, then you capture 360 panos on all the important scan points using a DSLR, then import those into the app. Would it be able to align them? Has anyone tried doing this? It would be a great way to get the 3D features of Matterport with the best possible image quality, if it works. |

Hi @mcrksman I can put you in touch with MPEmbed where they have background access if you like. The procedure is complicated but it can be done through rare Matterport API access. Alternately you can inport the panos to the capture app and reupload the tour. The process is a little unstable and similar to repositioning panos in the capture app when on site. If you are looking for a more simple solution to the API or the Capture App method, I recommend just embeding them in a Mattertag. The user will have to open the tag to see the pano but it is the quickest method available. |

Coy the panos to your ipad. Import the 360s in the capture app. I have had great success aligning 360s. It’s how I sneak staged photos into the MP tour. | ||

Quote:Originally Posted by mcrksman I believe there should be no difference in alignment process when you use multiple cameras. You should be able to import and align but only assuming your DSLR 360 photo sees the same features/edges captured by a Pro2. Just do not expect it will come with your original resolution. Matterport downscales imported 360 to 8K before processing them through Cortex. |
