Hello, I'm wondering how we can scan a building with multiple floors in a single Matterport model, especially when the floors are not directly connected by stairs. The client requires scans of the following areas: - Entrance Area - Ground Floor Communal Space and Meeting Room - Ground Floor Laundry Room - 1st Floor Community Kitchen Diner - 4th Floor Community Kitchen Diner - Roof Terrace - Wellness Studio I would appreciate any tips on how to combine all these separate parts of the building into a single Matterport model. For this job, I will be using the Insta360 X3. Thanks, Imran |

I believe you can't. When this happens we charge the client more because we need to use more spaces. |

You will have to link separate tours with mattertags.

You may consider an outside software that would allow several tours to be combined in one tour with links to several tours. Or 360 photos put together in 3rd party software. 3Dvista will allow this but a slightly different display on computer.

Video: SIMLAB STAGES - Transition between Matterport models | video courtesy of SIMLAB YouTube Channel | 16 October 2023 @Jedrzej @SimlabSales @fakharimran If you are still seeking a solution for connecting multiple Matterport scans within one model, would this Matterport + STAGES by SIMLAB (video above) solve the challenge? While the intended use was to show Matterport digital twins of the SAME space overtime, I could imagine that my placing the "portal icon" in the appropriate direction of the next location, you could enable multiple Matterport scans to be accessed from ONE Matterport tour. For example, each of these individual Matterport scans deep link back to either ONE Matterport scan or to each other, as appropriate, using Matterport + STAGES by SIMLAB. - Entrance Area - Ground Floor Communal Space and Meeting Room - Ground Floor Laundry Room - 1st Floor Community Kitchen Diner - 4th Floor Community Kitchen Diner - Roof Terrace - Wellness Studio Does that help? Best, Dan P.S. From the SIMLAB STAGES description on this YouTube video: When developing Digital Twin documentation in the early stages of house construction, it's common to encounter the absence of a connecting staircase between the floors. One approach is to follow the construction team's path, climb a ladder, and perform a second scan on the next floor. This results in acquiring two separate Matterport models with distinct hosting links. To give the impression of a smooth transition from one space to another, a helpful feature in STAGES comes to the rescue. Using portals, we can integrate Matterport spaces into a single application, thereby creating a comprehensive walkthrough experience throughout the entire building. STAGES is a construction monitoring solution combined with a cross-sector communication platform that allows easy free viewing and comparison of sequential scans. A single platform to host multiple types of building representations including scan, CAD, and BIM to transparently compare at any point in time are helpful as a permanent record of foundation placement, framing completion, mechanical installation, pre-drywall, and owner turnover. An entire team is able to remotely monitor progress from anywhere. STAGES gives everyone tools to post an issue, add audio, brush and picture notes, and resolve the issue. The complete history is saved within STAGES. This allows variances from plan to field to be controlled, tracked and resolved. Regardless of a newly constructed facility or renovation, the stored views are permanently available for reference. Source: SIMLAB YouTube Channel |

Surely you can't have separate floors without a stair egress. I would use the stair as a way to join the spaces. (lol, I don't think elevators will work.)

Thanks Dan, I was able to connect the floors via fire exit stairs. Although bit tricky but I managed it in the end. Thanks for the links and I shall certainly look into the solution for any future project. Quote: Originally Posted by DanSmigrod |

@Sdoughtie I have tried several elevator setups and have not been able to get even one to process correctly in Matterport. I have not been able to find a single elevator add on that works. An easy resolution would be Matterport allowing us to disable floors, so like you pointed out use the staircase to build the model and then cut out each floor between the floors not needed.
