I’m scanning (3) adjoining retail spaces. I’m wanting to scan and get the CAD file as one space. I can scan as one file by going out the front door of each space (scanning the sidewalk) and entering the next/adjoining space. Does anyone know how Matterport is going to calculate the square footage on something like that. I can’t trim to the storefront because i have scan points outside on the sidewalk. Any advice? |

@rhelling if I am understanding what you need , scan the overall space as one model. Use that model for Matterport to create your CAD file. Then duplicate file on capture app 3 times. Now use trim tool to just remove everything outside of that single space and process it. Do that again for other two spaces. You are processing 4 models but that gives you what you need. CAD file for overall space and then three individual models. If you are trying to figure out how MP creates and charges for CAD file I still have an open ticket with support they created floor plan wrong for me. I asked how they determined the square footage and why were dimensions wrong. All I got in response was new drawings with the dimensions still wrong even tho I showed them where the errors were. Still no response from support, even after pressing sale rep at recent conference for answers. That support ticket created June 2023. |

@ron0987 Have you actually done that successfully? I just need the one space - not (3) individual spaces. But to get the one space, i need to connect them by going outside and scanning the front sidewalk. The problem i’ve run into is that if i trim to the storefront, my exterior scan points are outside of my trim lines and i get some wonky stuff after processing. I don’t want to include exterior stuff when processing because I want Matterport to understand that when calculating my fee for CAD plans, it should only be the building and not any exterior stuff. |

I have only tried Matterport the one time for floorplans. I used a Pro3 camera and one house, inside and out. Ordered the floorplan and found several errors on the plan, both dimensions and square footage. This is the one and only time I used them and was suppose to receive refund and never got it. So no never had success in using Matterport. |
