I have used pro2 for a couple years and today i got the pro3. Just made it ready for tomorrow when i will get my ipad, that i used for the pro2, and start a scan with pro 3

..is it that simple?

That would be great to continue with a scan made with pro2. I have lot of projects that where taken on the doorstep and inside. can i now go to that doorstep, pick up that scan and continue?

Hope to hear about you experience with the same challange.

Hi Roy,
As long as you are not on a Classic plan you are good to go.
You can mix Pro2, Pro3 and Mark 1 Leica BLK360 in the same models.
Welcome to the great outdoors!

Yes you’re good to go. It’s that simple. But one thing to be aware of is differences in the “blind spot” where you, the operator, can hide from the Pro 3 as you scan.

The Pro 2 had a huge blind spot as the camera and IR scanner only could see directly in front of the camera, in a wedge about 100 degrees wide. So you had about 260 degrees behind and sides where you’d never be seen. Also, the Pro 2 captures nothing during the 6 periods while the camera spins 60 degrees to its next position. So if you are nimble, you can dash across in FRONT of the Pro 2 if the camera is tight against a wall.

The Pro 3 LiDAR Scanner is working ALL the time so there’s no dashing across. AND, the safe blind spot is limited to about 120 degrees on the back side of the Oro 3, so you have to be very careful to quickly shift your position to stay in that blind spot as it makes its 4 quarter turns.

There’s a much tighter, more attentive “dance” required while scanning with the Pro 3.
