We set out to blend education with advanced 3D technology. Our recent project took us to a theater, where we captured a drum set on video. We then converted this footage into a 3D Gaussian Splatting (GS) model and introduced interactive elements to allow for both learning about and playing the drum set parts. A big thank you to María Sánchez Isaza for her invaluable work on this project and to the Bellevue College XR Lab for their ongoing R&D collaboration. Tools used: - Jawset Postshot for creating the GS (https://www.jawset.com/) - SuperSplat editor in PlayCanvas for cleaning the GS (https://playcanvas.com/supersplat/editor) - Spline to create all the interactions (http://spline.com) Link to the experience (desktop only): https://my.spline.design/drumscopy-94370cf3b3daf7d48bcf49a3cf742fd0/ |

@Tosolini DRUM ROLL PLEASE ..... [SFX: DRUM ROLL] AWESOME! 3D Gaussian Splatting was one of the sessions at Geo Week 2024. Simply amazing how rapidly technology is developing and exciting to see how your mash-ups exploring what's possible. Thank you for sharing your examples with the WGAN Community. Best, Dan |
