Scanning Outside…19290

This is a preference thing…but I’m curious what others think and the reasons. We’re scanning with Pro3. I scan mostly commercial retail properties and I grab the Matterport Paks for importing into CAD software. When scanning, I like to go out the front/back doors to give clients a view of the front elevation and rear utilities. It doesn’t make the model very “clean” but seems to give clients a little extra. Are most of you scanning outside of doors?

I do residential, and I scan outside if the property has an important selling feature like a large deck/patio, maybe a workshop or large garage that's not connected. I have a Pro 2 though, so if it's just a normal yard I grab a 360 scan and run with that.

@rhelling I have done exterior scans with the Pro3. In some cases I liked the look of the exterior scans when there was radius patterns and it looks good. But you have the option to use the trim tool and it will give you clean lines in the final model.
