Not asking what you charge, gathering a consensus.

Hosting fees have to be factored in otherwise the job you did could eventually end up costing you.

We factor in 1 year of hosting to our customers and then charge annual fees after that.

I know some people do 6 month terms and others do monthly.

Lots of ways to do it but for any long-term models that definitely has to be a part of the up front discussion.

@Shawn_P dependent on the job or agent, high volume agents 6 months free, occasional scheduling usually 3 months. I have one contractor that I have charged no hosting fees because of the volume of work. But in the last 9 months he has not scheduled any shoots so we are evaluating a fee for him.

I used to charge for hosting but found that it's a volume game and that hosting income doesn't necessarily justify the time and expenses. But here's a thought...

Perhaps MP should consider opening an affiliate/commission program for service providers. 1) Providers can recommend their clients to open their own starter plan from which you earn a provider commission and relieve yourself of paying for the larger Business accounts, 2) the client gets access to their own model without having to call on you to make every minor change or having you add them as collaborators to your account for access, and 3) MP gets a bit of revenue boost and credit MSPs for saving their business!😌...kidding.

But no... Not a novel suggestion at all, but I don't think I've come across this as a suggestion or discussion online. What has the MSP community to say?
