So is this the first shot over the bow of Matterport? Still a while away and the last launch by NCTech of the Iris 360 was delayed, then shipped without all of the promised features enabled, and sill only gives only a so/so image with a nadir you could tank through. More to come..... https://plus.google.com/+LucioVirzi/posts/c8u8UeFTsz6 |

@TrustedPhotoDC, Where did you get the info, I have been following Ntech for a few years and have not seen this yet and I am definitely interested before I buy an Iris360 for $1999. Ron |

2016 Street View Summit going on today in Amsterdam. I see the Iris360 now covers 175 degrees. Still a lackluster image, lots of noise. |

Did they show how good their results are at this point? How does it compare to MP? Also, what is the workflow? How long does it take for each capture? Is it one/fewer wide angle shot/s or a ton of them stitched together like MP? Thanks |

@TrustedPhotoDC Wow! Thanks for sharing the video about NCTech at the Google Street View Summit in Amsterdam. Some very exciting announcements including, at 10:40 into the video, an announcement for the $500 IRIS VR 3D 360º Camera with depth sensor technology with Intel RealSense tech (photogrammetry) free to move in the model ... (also doubles as an object scanner). (Captures depth data) No announcement for ship date. On the NCTech YouTube channel, "NCTech IRIS360 HDR Panoramic Camera" |

Wow, very interesting. The $500 buy in is def a surprise. They say you can move about in the model freely, I wonder what that mean exactly. they said you can remove from tripod and move it around, kind of sounds like you may be able to scan all the nooks and crannies maybe for a more complete model? Thanks for the vids and links! |

So is Iris about a year away per their own announcement? Did they say that or was I too sleep deprived to understand correctly? Also, is there a precedent for this company that could indicate whether they release late, or on schedule? |
