WGAN Gear of the Week WGAN-TV - Matterport Pro3 Camera Training-#4028-What Are The Uses Of AirTags When Doing Scans Apple AirTags Gear of the Week: Apple AirTags (For All Camera Bags/Backpacks) Hi All, Today's WGAN Gear of the Week - Apple AirTags - was inspired by @ScanYourSpace Founder and CEO Tom Sparks during our discussion on WGAN-TV Live at 5 (Segment #4028 above | Entire Episode) on Thursday, 28 September 2023: ✓ WGAN-TV | Matterport Pro3 Camera Training: Getting Started with Matterport Scanning (Capture) During this WGAN-TV Podcast, Tom says (in part): - So I actually recently bought AirTags and now I can't stop buying them and throwing them everywhere. I hide it somewhere inside the case where it's not really easy to find it. And I did that when I started renting [the Pro3] out. And it actually came in helpful for one rental where the renter kind of went missing in action for about three weeks. And I was able to track where exactly the case was. And it didn't come down to me needing to use that for any law enforcement purposes or anything. But it was helpful for at least my comfort in knowing where my equipment was. I could see right where it was. --- When do you use Apple AirTags? Best, Dan |

Hi Dan, The AirTags are such a great idea, like insurance they are one of those things you hope to never have to use! We use them in vehicles and camera cases on the basis that they give you a starting point if anything goes AWOL. Not cheap, but they seem to be very reliable. One bonus is when you forget where you left the vehicle or case! Oliver |

I use them for my keys, wallet, camera cases, & e-bikes. They come in very handy especially for my keys and wallet, which I loose on a regular basis. |

We recently traveled from LA to Virginia to do a week-long shoot. Before departure we bought sets of AirTags and hid them within all our bags - checked - carry-on (which on smaller planes sometimes are stowed underneath, loaded for the jetway) - and even our "personal item" small bags. It was great peace-of-mind to sit on the plane during loading, and "see" via the Apple "Find My" app that our checked bags containing thousands of dollars in equipment were actually ON our plane, especially when traveling via connections through multiple cities. Worth every penny in lowered stress! |

I’m the king of losing things. Like I’d lose my head if it wasn’t attached to my body. I’ve even lost an airtag (fell off my keys) in a Home Depot parking lot. Luckily it was easy to find a few hours later. I cut a slit in my hard cases and slip airtags in them. I put usb drives on my keychain so I don’t lose those. (hotel address below… won’t be here in the AM. Not worried) |
