| Client has a couple large spaces they want scanned, but they also want CAD documents. I know everyone talks about getting CAD from these Matterport scans...but I started to read about point clouds and it all get confusing really quick. Is there a "best practice" type of method (or a simple solution) for taking a Matterport model that is scanned with a Pro3 and creating a CAD document with that. A CAD document that basically clean and can be dimensioned, add notes, title, etc. I know this is probably documented all over this forum, but I was getting lost trying to locate a simple solution - if there are any. Thanks! |

 I have attached an image of a CAD drawing that I had produced from a Pro 2 scan. It was very accurate from a dimensional standpoint. I got the E57 file from Matterport and had a 3rd party person from Fiverr produce the .dwg file for me. This is a 2300 square foot home; he charged me $325 to convert the point cloud to a CAD drawing. I scanned this property in a similar manner that I would have just to use the Digital Twin for presentation. I put a link below to the model so you can see the scan points that I used. I scanned a commercial building for an architect recently with a Pro 3. I don't know how they went about converting it to a CAD file, but I have not heard any complaints. |
