Good morning all, What is the largest space you've captured using an iphone with the matterport carousel? |

66,000 sq ft office space. An iPad was too heavy to carry around, especially when we can’t spin around the camera due to reflections.

Sorry if I misunderstood your post. I meant scanning a space using the iPhone as a remote to control the Matterport Pro2. I've never really scanned any space with just the phone. If you're using the phone, note that you'll have to use the phone position as a pivot and not rotate the device around your body. You can use a tripod as a reference point, or get the Axis. For quality output, the iPhone or consumer cameras (like an Insta360) is not quite good enough. You'll have to patiently test it out. Ensure your scan density is high (not more than 2 meters) - you can always hide scan points later. Hope this helps. Good luck. |

I am a professional Matterport service provider and I have done over 1300 scans for a commercial building. I recommend an iPad pro for this with at least 256 MB. For those that have done these many scans, you will know that the Matterport app starts freaking out about a thousand scans. Matterport will merge large scan projects

I have just completed scanning a campus with more than 1600 scans using my iphone 14 pro Max, and I think it has reached it's max cap because the capture app keep crashing no matter how many times I "repair" those spaces. I know Matterport can merge large projects but they charge a good amount of money as well. |
