Anyone have any sample scans of the same space with various cameras to show the quality difference between them all? We quoted on a job and were told that the customer is waiting for another quote from a competitor. I want to mention that they should make sure they are comparing Apples to Apples as I personally can tell a huge quality difference between the different cameras, but don't have multiple scans of same place to demonstrate that to them. |

@lilnitsch This is great. Did you happen to do a Pro1 of this space? Looks like you did every other possible camera (other than Pro3) |

I don’t think I shot this home with the pro1 but, I do have a comparison of a real estate office with the Pro1, Pro2, theta v, z1 and I believe the Insta360. I’ll have to find those links

@lilnitsch The potential job is an art installation so I feel they should want the extra image quality.

I gotta be honest guys. I don’t really see a difference in quality. So if you charge more for the better quality - I’d pick the cheaper low quality option. Granted, I’m viewing on an iPhone. I just have a hard time believing any of my clients care that much on super quality photos. I scan with a Theta Z1 and it’s fine - no complaints on quality. I’ve contemplated bumping up to a Pro2 or Pro3 - but it’s got nothing to do with the photo quality. I need the BIM files and better scanning of large spaces. I suppose technically that’s better quality, but again my clients don’t care about the image as much as that BIM file. |

To see a huge difference look at tours done with 360 cameras and Matterport cameras. You will never see huge difference on a smartphone screen or even on a desktop with a HD/UHD monitor. All these screens come with much less resolution of their screens comparing to even 360 camera capture. So they look nice because their screens are less in resolution than a 360 photo. However open them on a 4K monitor and you will see that most of 360 cameras photos will show blurry details. You will need to have at least a 8K camera to match a width of a photo without zooming in with a resolution of a 4K monitor. It is actually a simple math. High Definition (HD) is 1280 x 720 pixels. Full HD (FHD)is 1920 x 1080 pixels. 2K or Quad HD (QHD)is 2560 x 1440 pixels 4K is 3840 x 2160 pixels For 360s it needs to be double in width. So 8K photo on a 4K monitor is still ok, even though it will be at a maximum zoom out showing 180 degree FOV(half of 360 photo) 4K photo on a 4K monitor is not ok, because it needs to be zoomed twice to fill a 4K screen. And these are just numbers at maximum width covering 180 degree FOV which is barely used for viewing. In reality even a 8K photo on a 4K monitor can be blurry if you zoom to normal and comfortable 110 degree FOV. |

@rhelling The Z1 can be prone to yellowing in models in certain lighting conditions If I were to choose a 360 camera to shoot Matterport models with I would likely go with the Theta X |
