1. Gaming 2. Augmented Reality 3. Movie VR VR is another media type. Where does it fit in the media landscape. What is it good for and not good for. Yahoo - lots of interest by advertisers. (Early years of the gold rush. We know that we need to do this, but we do not know what or how we need to do this. If they do not know how to do it right or well, we are going to see bad execution. Long term: a place for everyone at the table. Photographers are in a great position as content creators. Storytelling needs to be revisited ... the whole process of production. Shoot. Experiment. Test. Try. Learn. Make mistakes. Clear slate for lots of storytellers. Just try it (VR). Wast of time to worry about technical quality while trying to figuring it out. Don't focus on the tech. It's about the ideas rather than polish. We try things. Somethings work. Somethings don't. (Mostly talking about VR Video). What interesting things can we do the next time. Take the viewer to unexpected places. Create a video that scares people. Give them an experience .. a prized moment. Memorable moments. |

Yahoo (Andrew Balfour) More brands do not know what they want. They are willing to experiment. Great memorable experiences. Not re-purpose existing media. Something that creates a wow for the audience. Need to keep it simple. --- Thing about 360 video as a separate experience to be planned from the beginning: not added at the last minute. Can not re-purpose existing content. Need to create for this unique platform. --- VR can not be an after-thought. Most conversations that we have do not include audio and that's scary. You tell the story differently based on media. Radio, TV, print, VR are all different. |

Keith: (UK Educator) Owning a camera doesn't make someone a photographer. Owning a VR camera doesn't make someone a VR photographer. |

Audience Question: How to get started with 360º video with low budget. Get started with Ricoh Theta. Good. Fast. Cheap. Pick two. Can not have all three. To learn and explore, Ricoh Theta is fine. |
