Minimizing Matterport scans?18797

A property manager asked me if I can minimize Matterport scans, and therefore cost, on a 15,000sf office building by only scanning a line through a building, just poke the camera into the big rooms to looking into them, but no further, or crossing the room in one line only if needed to get to the next area. That way a potential renter could see the whole thing, but the manager would only need to pay for, I'm guessing here, maybe 800 linear feet of scans, or about 115 scans. Would that work? What would it look like? Have any of you ever done something like this? Can you point to any examples? I'm thinking the dollhouse would be crap, but would it work other than that? Or how about just doing the perimeter of each big room or warehouse? Would that work? |

@johnwheatley Matterport needs to be continuous scans EXCEPT for 360 Views that can be shot anywhere. Sounds like your client does not care about the dollhouse view (you can disable that). Does that help? Dan P.S. Seems like a 360 virtual tour platform would be a be solution and can be shot faster for less. Why Matterport in this use case? In a 360 tour, you can transition sphere-to-sphere. |

That does help. Thanks. It would be continuous scans, just not scanning the whole this, just enough to "see" everywhere. I guess the reason to do Matterport in this case, as opposed to a 360 tour, would be to have the superior, flowing walk-through experience that only MP provides (to my knowledge/experience), wherein you can't jump through walls and you understand where you are in the building. | ||
