Just wondering if anyone has advice and/or tips and tricks to avoid alignment issues.

I’m struggling a bit lately on large space projects and large multi-room projects where I have situations where my scanning goes multiple directions. When I circle around and come back to those starting places…my scans don’t align and can sometimes be considerably off.

I’ve tried scanning closer points (3-4 steps). I’ve tried not going too far with my scanning in one direction - more like a fan. I still wind up with alignment issues.

Is there something I’m missing?

Hi @rhelling
What camera?
What capture device?
Are you saying there appears to be errors when viewing the screen as you capture on your device, or are you saying you have errors on the model after it is processed?

Chances are good alignments will be corrected in processing if they’re not too far apart.

A pro 3 will fix most alignment issues. It's a MUST HAVE camera for large spaces

Theta Z1
…and I guess I will admit that processing does fix a lot of the issues. But there are times it’s a bit jumpy.

Z1 for sure is a nice and versatile 360 camera, however it is not the most recommended for scanning large spaces. You can mix spaces scanned with Pro 2 and Z1 in order to have better results.
