Today, Apple released iOS16 to the general public. One of my favorite 3D scanning apps using the iPhone lidar is Polycam. That's the same app used to Backup Ukraine. iOS16 also enables a new feature called Apple RoomPlan. Powered by ARKit, RoomPlan is a new Swift API that utilizes the camera and LiDAR Scanner on iPhone and iPad to create a 3D floor plan of a room, including key characteristics such as dimensions and types of furniture. Just update your iPad/iPhone and the Polycam app to iOS16 and give it a try to RoomPlan. Here is a quick example of my office and living room: |

@Tosolini Thanks for sharing: including the example. I could imagine: 1. Apps that let you create floor plans (without having to indicate wall/floor/ceiling boundaries) 2. For apps that requiring indicating wall/floor/ceiling boundaries (they are likely to use this) 3. When a client wants floor plans, but does not want to pay for a Matterport tour, there will be super-easy options powered by the Apple ARKit. Your thoughts?
