I have been looking for a good overlay solution that provides menu customization and custom tagging. I've been troubled however by some of the terms of use of some of the more noteable options when it comes to content that you post to your overlays. For instance, Treedis states that: "Except as expressly provided in Treedis’ privacy policy, you give Treedis an unrestricted, irrevocable, perpetual, transferable, sublicensable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, publicly perform, transmit and distribute any such material you submit, without any payment or accounting to you or others" Essentially whatever you upload you are giving Treedis the right to do pretty much anything they want with. Openhaus, same thing. MPSkin had the same clause, though when I asked them about it they changed it to something less obtrusive. MPEmbed doesn't have any terms of use or privacy policy listed on their site at all which is possibly a bigger warning sign. I'm wondering if others have noticed this or care about it, and if so is there is a solution in which you aren't giving away an "unrestricted license" to your assets? |

I've had legal departments tell my how I and "nobody else" is allowed to "reproduce" or "display" the end product. I cannot promise that with Matterports terms of use. I point that out and sell another 360 option they can have better control of. |
