Matterport Partners with Burns & McDonnell to Help Energy, Utilities, and Manufacturing | Video courtesy of www.WGAN-TV.com YouTube Channel | 28 July 2022 Is Matterport testing the Pro3 at Power Sub-Stations/Outdoor Utilities? Hi All, I could imagine that Matterport has asked clients to take the Matterport Pro3 LiDAR Scanner/Camera for a spin because Matterport recently promoted: 1. Matterport + Burns & McDonnell to Help Energy, Utilities, and Manufacturing 2. Video: Matterport + Leica BLK360: Power Sub-Stations Updates I could imagine that the Matterport Pro3 LiDAR Scanner/Camera is a perfect fit in the Power-Sub-Station/Outdoor Utilities space and Matterport likely has asked these companies to test Matterport Pro3 LiDAR Scanner/Camera versus the Leica BLK360 Scanner/Camera: 1. Outdoor capture 2. Long range 3. Accuracy 4. Fast scans 5. Professional imagery 6. Price/Value Your thoughts? Dan |

@dansmigrod If it scans as easily outdoors as it does indoors, I'll be at the front of the line to purchase! Cheers, Keith |

@dansmigrod Some existing, but mostly new. Here's some of what I'm thinking: Vacation rental / hospitality: outdooor amenity areas (which can be substantial in size and number) Real Estate: Luxury listings primarily Business: Better options for Google Business listing presentations - imagine a restaurant with outdoor areas being easily integrated Commercial Real Estate: For better scans overall, and to allow inclusion of outdoor areas Industrial/Utility: As you noted. Municipal: Can you imagine a fire department having a digital twin of every major risk site for emergency preparations? Civil: Digitizing "our town" with outdoor spaces, etc. Just some random early Friday morning thoughts. Keith |

Unless the Pro 3 has a profile matching the BLK360, that Liberty Utilities scan was done with the BLK360. Look at its shadow. |

@Home3D Yes. I understand. My guess is that they either did two videos (or will be doing a new video with the Pro3). Enjoy your weekend, Dan |
