Has anyone been able to use Captur3D, with Matterport integration and AR waypoints? If so, is it heavy in code implementation? Is there a better option?
Welcome to the WGAN Forum. Thanks for your question.
While we're waiting for the WGAN Community to reply to your post, is the following helpful?

Alex Hitchcock: Hey everyone, Alex here from the CAPTUR3D team. Got some great new updates to show you on the Capture platform for this month.
Firstly, AR Wayfinding, we also have updates to our navigation menu. We've implemented a performance gauge for virtual staging assets and tour performance. Then we've also added in the option to toggle on or off the level of detail of virtual staging assets so you can make sure that you have great performance on both mobile and desktop. Let me do a screen share and I'll show you around.
First up we have AR Wayfinding. Within the CAPTUR3D Creator Studio, you can click on the ARConnect tab and essentially create a Wayfinding point of anywhere, any space that you want to place this within the scan. You can use the floor plan view as well to set these. What we can do is click to where we want to place. We can assign this with a new title, choose the icon size, and also upload a thumbnail image, if we like, that will be displayed in the ARConnect app when someone searches for this Wayfinding point. You can see how the icons appear here. You can set them in different sizes.
Essentially it's Google Maps for indoors. Really exciting, applicable to a lot of industries, museums, galleries, etc, airports, stations, large industrial spaces. Really the possibilities are endless with this one. Very exciting. We recently did a webinar on this. You can check our YouTube channel out for more information and in-depth info on that feature.
Secondly, we have some major updates to our navigation menu. If we click on overlay again and Creator Studio, we can jump into the side menu here and allocate any external content we want into the side navigation bar within the tour. That includes deep links to other tours or tour locations.
We have images, videos, floor plans, other files and documents, web pages, and contacts for lead generation as well. Lots of updates there and the possibilities again are endless with this one.
We have also launched our performance gauge. If I click on the staging tab, you can see that there's a little performance gauge in the top right-hand corner.
What this does is allow you to see what the performance will be like based on the number of 3D assets that you've placed in a space. We have a couple of assets placed in this space here. As you can see, the performance gauge is green.
If we start putting a large number of animated assets or heavy assets into the tour that gauge is going to go red and we'll be alerted of that before we publish. The last but not least, we have assets optimization. What we can actually do within a particular asset is click on Settings and we can choose whether we want to toggle on or off the level of detail.
By toggling this on, it increases the performance of the tours, essentially by being able to display the assets in particular detail depending on how far away you are from the asset.
If you're very far away from the asset, the quality is going to diminish, allowing for top performance. The closer you get to the asset, the quality is actually going to improve.
This is really good to toggle on, especially if you're going to be passing this on for mobile viewing within the tour, or you can turn it off if you want that really high-quality desktop version. Those are what's news for June 2022. I hope you all enjoyed it. As always, let us know in the CAPTUR3D Community Group on Facebook, if you have any questions or if we can help with anything. Thank you.

I have found Captur3d easy to use, but I have not tried the AR yet.
I rescanned a venue the other day and just pasted in the new Matterport code into Captur3d. I was delighted to find my client's web site was also auto updated with the new model and new photos.
Hi Rob, great to hear you are interested in the Captur3D AR wayfinding. I can confirm that there is no development experience required. All of our tools and plug & play, and only take a few minutes to setup. I recommend signing up for a free trial to give it a go, and you can also schedule in a demo with one of our experts to talk you through the finer details. Thanks
