After a 9.5 hour capture yesterday, the battery indicator said 14 percent remaining. Tip: ABC: Always Be Charging your iPad with a remote battery pack. I could not have captured for 9.5 hours without doing this. About to go shoot another 9+ hour overnight (indoor) shoot. All charged-up. Has your Matterport Pro 3D Camera battery ever run out before you finished a capture? (not for me) Dan |

I went close once. Got down to 20%. 20,000mah battery pack for the iPad. Was a long day |

I scanned a 6,000 s.f. house on Monday that took about 3 hours. My iPad was down to about 60% by the time I was done, and the camera was at about 70%. I've done full 8 hour days of scanning multiple rental cabins that were anywhere from 1,500 to 5,000 s.f. and had maybe 25% of my battery left for both the iPad and camera. But I have a battery pack ready to charge the iPad when needed. | ||

Unfortunately...yes, I have had the camera die on me. We had some miscommunication here and I thought that the camera was charged (didn't check it like I should have) and started a bigger scan with only 40% on the camera (iPad was fully charged). I ran out near the end of a job and it was a huge PITA to finish. I had to just sit around and wait until it bumped up into the teens to eeek out another 5-10 sweeps, had to do this at least two times before I could finish. Embarrassing and added at least 2 hours to my overall scan time Lesson learned....triple check that the camera is charging the night before a shoot. |
