| We've been hired to shoot industrial buildings where we encounter rooms with absolutely NO lighting. On one assignment we had to scan an entire windowless building that didn't even have power. Problem? No more. For years all our team members have scanned with Dan's recommended Manfrotto 3-extension latch-locking tripod which has been great. What we added was a 15" tall extension rig which moved the legs further away from the Pro 2, making the working leg width narrower which is great for tight spaces and stairs. Recently we discovered a 360° rechargeable, dimmable light that fits PERFECTLY inside the three steel rods of the riser! By perfect, I mean its diameter is greater than the spread between two of the rods, but so close than it can be wedged in halfway up the 15" and won't fall out! On top of that, it has a powerful magnet in its base that grabs the steel plate at the bottom. It's truly as if these were made for each other. If shooting with a Z1 or Theta X, add an Insta360 selfie stick between the riser and camera, then collapse legs to minimum, to minimize nadir spot. I wouldn't send any MP Pro scanner out on an industrial or construction scan without this rig. Take a look.
