Hi all For the first time I have been asked to provide an OBJ file to a client of mine, so I will be getting the Matterpak. My question is if I have to do anything diferent from the scans I normaly do for a 3D tour? Do I need to leave less space between scans? Do I need to scan at different hights? And so on. I really appreciate any help as I will be doing this job in less then 10 Hours. Thank you so much. |

Depending on what they require the obj for. I would be asking them what their use is. You may want to scan high and low to remove any occlusions. If that is the case, pay close attention to the mini map and ensure you remove all black parts. |

Off the top of my head the most important thing is that you must use a Matterport Pro2 or Leica BLK. I have told even a single shot with a Ricoh Theta or other 360 cameras with no LiDAR or Infrared technology and you cannot order a matterpak. | ||

Hi @Pedrotex69, @Jamie and @Meidansha are both correct. Can you describe the building? Is it retail, apartments, a warehouse? How tall is it? Oliver |

OK @Pedrotex69 I would suggest you scan as you normally would, with the camera at chest height, making sure you get in behind areas like the DJ booth, bars etc. Then crank up the tripod so it's high, without bashing into any lights or other equipment. Go around and overlap the scans with the regular ones, making sure that you cover all the seating areas, and the bars etc. You can hide these scans in the tour, but it will add to the quality of the imagery and also the data files. Good luck! Oliver |

If it has fancy lights be careful. I had LED lights ruin the exposure and the dollhouse that my Leica was to make recently. The Leica data was fine in Cyclone register but matterport's .obj was really bad with lots of holes in the mesh. There were other issues with the scan also (Leica set to low density etc.) but I never had such bad results as these with the same settings. |

@Pedrotex69 Good luck with your Matterport project today. When you can, please do share how you approached the Matterport scan differently, based on needing the Matterport MatterPak and the feedback above. Best, Dan |
