Just sharing... I wondered how accurate the Z1 is, and bought a laser measure. I measured using Matterport's measurement tool in the space, and then measured with the laser. 13 measurements... on average, accuracy was about 98%. Not up to Pro2 standards, but better than I expected. Not good enough for 'commercial' gigs, but I think good enough for real estate. |

@sdubose99 its perfect for commercial gigs, you don't need a PRO2 , there is no client in their right mind that can or will trust the measurements , especially when it comes to fit-out, construction, engineering. It is just a basic guide. You will not use it to send to someone to do work for you based off these models or measurements. That is where a good old tape measure or laser disto comes in, and clients with money will own their own Lidar / Laser scanners. Just to put this in perspective just in my region Leica sold over 180 BLK360 to companies in these spaces. That is impressive to say the least, but the workflow for Matterport makes zero sense or cents. I have a Z1 also in the toolbox, and it is accurate enough to buy furniture at IKEA or getting a basic idea of a spaces size. So I can see interior designers investing in buying a Z1 as it is quick and easy to capture with the outputs. If I was Matterports internal sales team I would be contacting every interior design company in the world. |
