A couple of weeks ago, we had the privilege to 3D scan the first prototype of Boeing 737 hosted at the Museum of Flight in Seattle. The aircraft is almost 50 years old, we had to crawl inside and there were no lights. During each scan, an operator manually pointed an LED panel in front of the camera to light up the interior. A second panel was laid under the seats to illuminate the floor. The space was limited, but we managed to complete the scan successfully. Here is a 360 photo of the team celebrating in the cockpit (shot with a Theta S). And here is the 3D model complete with Mattertags. |

@Tosolini Fantastic! Plus, love the backstory about lighting. Great use of Mattertags. Theta 360ยบ in the cockpit is a nice touch. Dan |

Hi @Tosolini, This might be obvious (sorry if it is) but you didn't have any LED issues from the lighting that illuminated the plane with? I guess my thought is if there is no direct light interfering with the camera, the problematic LED's aren't a problem. Great Scan! |

@danmorell The LED panel didn't cause any issue. We were careful to just illuminate the space from behind the rotating camera | ||

I do also think that the LED panels or fuctures are not a problem. We tested severall different lights and panels in a cave last week anh had no problems what so ever with the LED's. https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=TiEuPPkyakp Grtz Rene. |
